Compass Point

In Nassau, Bahamas there are quite a few places that you can grab a bite, but one of my favorite places to go is compass point! Compass point is a small boutique hotel and restaurant. They serve a variety of Bahamian dishes as well as some traditional American food.

Last Summer while I was home I went to compass points with a few friends that were visiting the Bahamas.

These friends were visiting from Europe, so they were really able to appreciate style and color of compass point. The decor in compass point is very old-school with lots of wood, it really encompasses the tropical vibe you expect to receive when you are visiting the Bahamas. There is a beautiful view of the ocean while you dine with your friends

YUM – Compass Burger

This was the burger I ordered from compass point and even though it seems to be the focus of the image, I would rather you focus your attention on the “Bacardi” pitcher. At compass point they offer a special deal where you can get a pitcher of a special mixed cocktail made from an entire bottle of rum (and its delicious!)

Here is a video of the beach view at compass point:

If you are reading this and plan on taking a trip to the Bahamas then I would highly recommend visiting compass point and grab a pitcher (preferably with friends!) and enjoy the view!

The Bahamas has around 700 islands and small cay. The most beautiful set of island and cays in my opinion is Exuma. As a true Bahamian born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas I have seen many other islands such as Bimini, Long Island and Harbor Island and more. So trust me when I say, the Exuma’s are a real one of a kind beauty. From the crystal clear waters to the protected underwater parks and majestic coral reefs, this is truly a nature enthusiasts dream destination.

One of the many protected sea parks in the Bahamas (Exuma)

Have you ever seen people on Instagram and other social medias feeding and playing with pigs on a beautiful beach? Ever wonder where that is? Well none other than Exuma! Exuma is the home of the famous swimming pigs where all walks of life from “influencers” to family vacationers come to feed and play with these lovable pigs. This is one of the Bahamas most famous attractions and it all started in 1990 with just 5 baby pigs (4 female and 1 male). Now the number has grown exponentially!

I invite you to come swim with the pigs in this nature wonderland!

Atlantis Resort

The Atlantis Resort located in Nassau, Bahamas is a great family destination spot! Actually, It is located on Paradise Island, a smaller Island that is connected to Nassau by a bridge. The Atlantis was initially brought to life through visionary and entrepreneur Sol Kerzner, who took the once desolate “Hog Island” and transformed it into the “Paradise Island” we all know today.

The Atlantis Resort is the home to the Bahamas’ first water park, more commonly known as “Aquaventure”. Aquaventure takes up a massive 141 acres and has twenty 20 million gallons of water. There are high octane water slides for the people looking for exhilarating experiences. From the leap of faith to the rapids that take you all around the resort, there is surely something for everybody at the Aquaventure water park!

Here is a video of someone going down the famous “Leap of Faith” slide in Aquaventure (more pictures below), where you pass through a tunnel surrounded by sharks!
